Sam graduated with a MSc in physiotherapy from King’s College London, UK, after completing his BSc in Applied Sports Science at the University of Edinburgh. Having practiced extensively within the National Health Service as well as the private sectors in the UK, he has gained valuable experience in a wide range of clinical settings including musculoskeletal, major trauma, amputees, orthopedics and professional sport. He has worked with both amateur and elite athletes from several disciplines including rugby, soccer, triathlon, skiing, and CrossFit.
Sam loves to work with people from all backgrounds and abilities needing support with musculoskeletal and orthopedic injuries or conditions. He has a special interest in treating sports injuries as well as developing individualised injury prevention programmes. Sam’s sessions include a thorough physiotherapy assessment, where he looks beyond the injury site in order to identify any areas of weakness or imbalance that may be contributing to the issue or predisposing a client to further injury. He utilises a combination of hands-on/manual therapy, targeted rehabilitation exercises and advanced strength and conditioning programming, drawing upon his extensive knowledge of exercise science.
When not in clinic, Sam enjoys rugby, CrossFit and exploring the outdoors, ideally on his road bike or his skis. Having previously represented Great Britain at the World University Rugby 7’s Championships, he understands the demands of competing in sport at an elite level and the impact an injury can have both mentally and physically on an athlete. Supporting others to achieve their goals is Sam’s motivation and is what attracted him to become a physiotherapist in the first place. Having recently moved to Vancouver from the UK, he is excited at the prospect of exploring British Columbia and challenging himself with new activities.
